Hello Community, im after a bit of advice if possible
I have a 5 year old coastal carpet python, have had since a yearling, he has been a regular guts eater and never missed a feed. The last time he ate was new years eve. since then i have relocated him from his 4ft fish tank enclosure to a larger cabinet style with branches and heat lamp. since the relocation he has not eaten. he smells the food but shys away. i have left him be in the enclosure since placing inside.

is this anything to worry about? does he need more time to adjust?

How long has it been in new enclosure? New enclosure looks good, great choice. Are temps correct? Looks like a reptile one S2M 12612 enclosure with the glass section on floor. I highly recommend utilising it with a 20 watt heat mat stuck to the underside. It's possible it's not getting warm enough as it's a taller enclosure and the hot spot is up high now and may not have worked it out yet?

many thanks for the reply

i will send an updated photo as there is a ledge under the lamp, he sits under the lamp with a hide and it is around 32 deg

They can fret when going into a larger enclosure, most will grow out of it quickly, but he needs to explore and get used to it. My thoughts are that he might be shedding, and it could be a combination that he was still getting used to the larger size enclosure. See how he goes for another week or so, but they do go lengthy periods without eating. If he is shedding, he will get around to it eventually and be back onto the food. Keep an eye on his body condition, if he is losing weight, see an Exotics Vet to screen out a bacterial infection etc.

Hello all just an update , Everest has eaten for the first time today since this post. Last time he ate was 31 dec 2021 . Since then he has shed twice, lost 300g had a course of antibiotics , I remodeled the enclosure to include plants to make the open area smaller
