correct home set up for Turles

Hi, Can anyone tell me of any good sites that have pictures of turtle tanks, I want to see how they are set up. We currently have 2 murray necks and they have a turle ledge but never go up on it. They use it to poke head up but thats it. Im worried its not enough....

Are you offering a basking site on the turtle ledge? A bit of heat may bring them up onto dry land.

Do you have a heat lamp? for basking.

We have :
a turtle dock
UV light over full tank
heater in water....
They come up but only for a few seconds them jump back down into the water. Should we have another heater out side that shines down on the dock. ????

Yeah. How many watts is your light?

yea mate i got the same sort of setup, have a fair few turtles, how long have you had yours?

when i first got mine they were out alot but as soon as i walk near it they run into the water, you may find they are up alot when your not there...

i jus have the ledge and the tank about 3/4 full and feed them bugs and stuff

Got 2 for xmas from my wife. Was a weird gift as i never asked for them but she was pregnant at the time so that explains a lot... She knows i really wanted a snake so i think she was trying to bring the turtles into it so i wouldnt get a snake. I also got the snake recently.

The turtles were around 20cent piece size went we got them and now size of my palm. Grow very quick.

My wife has pretty much been home since we got them and she never sees them going up there, now and then we hear a splash so maybe they are sneaking up when we arent looking. They are pretty good now, when its feeding time they come straight up to you and will follow you up and down the tank until i reach in and get them. (feed them in another container )

Feeding them bloody worms, a fish dinners with some turtle pellets. Gave them some Broccoli the other night and they loved it. We also have gold fish in the tank and have noticed that a few of them have gone missing so i think they are getting some fresh fish dinners now and then too. I just saw that you can give them banana and prawns so might give that a go.

Do you feed them once a day. ??
