I recently found out that my local council has a bylaw requiring anyone wanting to keep reptiles to obtain a permit. When I was at the council on Tuesday to find out what I needed to do to get a permit, I was told that I was the first person to enquire about the permit.
The pet shop owner tells customers that it is up to them to find out if a permit is required although he knows that one is required. He has also admitted that he's sold several snakes to Horsham residents.
The reason that I was not online last night is that I was busy writing an application letter for my permit. I hope my application is accepted or else I may have a big green enclosure for sale.
I was just wondering. Do any APS members check with their local council to see if a permit is required to keep retiles of if there are any council regulations for keeping reptiles?
Would be interesting to know.
Cheers,
Wombat.
