Earlier this year we went for a trip up to the Northern Territory. Unfortunately, I was quite sick while up there so got very little herping done while in Litchfield and we had to cancel going down to Katherine.
But we did see a few interesting things, so here are some photos.
A really bad shot of a frog outside our cabin at Litchfield.
Also right outside the cabin
Tolma Falls, Litchfield NP
Wangi Falls
Florance Falls
Not sure of it's name, but a little creek near Florance Falls
Night Tiger at Crocasaurus Cove
Northern spiny tail gecko
A cute, sleepy little turtle
Frilly
Golden tree snake
Me with a hosmer's skink named Nacho (because when he sheds his skin he smalls like corn chips)
Paul with bearded dragon
Me again......
Damn tourists
Nice looking BHP
Fishing for crocs
Can't remember the species, but this is how it decided to go to sleep
Yellow spotted monitor
Mater over the dam wall @ Fogg Dam
A tiny little croc beside one of the viewing platforms @ Fogg Dam
Green tree frog, Fogg Dam
Frog on a broom handle, Eden @ Fogg Dam.
Green tree frog @ Eden. If anyone is looking for somewhere to stay near Fogg Dam I highly recommend Eden. It is teeming with wildlife and the couple that own it are lovely
Frog on the windshield @ Eden
Rocket frog (?) All the frogs were just outside our room and there were so many that we stopped taking photos
My first wild water python
Crappy shot of what I think is a secretive snake. It was moving so fast that this was the only picture I got before it took off into the grass
Another water python
And another (we saw 4 all up, all around the same size)
Another frog in the carport @ Eden
And a final shot of the birds at Fogg Dam. Looking forward to our next trip there next year.
