Open letter to the online Herp community

Hi All,
Most people who frequent the Australian reptile lists will at some time or another notice me. I frequent several of them under the names Peter, Peterescue and Troll.
I make no attempt to hide my identity. Television doesn?t play a big part in my life being as how I am obsessed with reptiles.
It is probably a clinically certifiable condition. Subsequently I spend a lot of time online and in doing so have met a number of people whom I find I like and respect.
The reptile community is schism rife with factions that have formed through personal dislikes, disagreements and lack of communication skills to name a few. There is no one I hate. I am sometimes annoyed or upset by the actions of people and the divisiveness that they cause.
The politics of some people doesn?t sit with me at times and I?m willing to tell you so. It?s not that I am wearing my heart on my sleeve. I am telling you what I believe.
Sorry, I?m meandering.
My point is this. I will not dispose of a friendship or association. I will not distance myself from someone because someone else I know does not like them.
If this does not sit well with anyone let me know I we can say goodbye.
I will not be held hostage by petty martinets and socially manipulative despots. I willingly take your counsel and maintain any confidences that are bestowed.
I look forward to a long herp relationship with you all.

Hmmmm... Not sure what provoked this letter, Peter. In any case, I at least, welcome your input and, strangely, your humour! ;-) As far as "If this does not sit well with anyone let me know I we can say goodbye", NO! If a minority respond negatively to that statement, so what? I would hate to think you'd leave because of a few disgruntled users!

I don't hate anyone either. . Some people are a little annoying at times, but if you can't disregard them there's something wrong.

I'm assuming you are responding to PM's or a thread that I haven't got to yet. In any case, I hope you will disregard the minority.

Everyone is entitled to there opinion but its of no consequence to me or should it be to anyon else!
Opinions are just that opinons, not fact!

As of disposing of friend because someone else doesnt like them, a true friend would not ask that of you.

I have friends from many different walks of life and not all would get on well together. I do not expect them too.They are MY friends not each others.

As for emotional Blackmail ie if your their friend your not mine I say loose the blackmailer it is the lowest form of manipulation and I consider these people to be the scum of the earth!!

A friend is someone you accept warts and all.

Thanks for the response everyone. Its nice to see that egomania doesn't go unrewarded.
On relection open forum probably wasn't required but it cleared the air for me and a few others whilst confusing the majority.
