hey just wanted to ask a quick question, what is the different between a high yellow dp and a standard dp, is it just a difference in the colour they develop? due to the parents? or is it a mutation/integrate?
and if i am purchasing a standard diamond python, what colouring is it most likely to develop? i love the look of diamonds all together but i especially love brightly coloured ones.

(ps, i know this is probably a newbie questions so dont hate :p)

Have a look at pictures of the parents and that will give you a good indication of what color they will develop. A high yellow dp has brighter yellow in it, some dp's dont have much at all. It is up to preference of the buyer.

well what i was more or less asking was if the high yellow comes from general genetics(parents and whatnot) or if its like a crossbreed or intergrate, i figure its just from the parents of the snake but i just wanted to be sure, thanks anyway

Levels of pigment are herrtable traits in Diamond Pythons, high yellow will produce high yellow, but it has nothing to do with latitude - some of the highest yellows come from close to the southern limit of their range.

Diamond Pythons are Diamond Pythons, such a thing as a "standard" Diamond Python doesn't exist - patterning varies from almost white to golden yellow, and all shades in between - there is no "standard" as measured against anything else.

Uh...a high yellow diamond has more yellow. A standard diamond..doesn't. Guess what colour a high white diamond has more of and win a prize.

i just wasn't sure if a "high yellow" had something more to it than just where it came from, and all that kind of stuff, and when i say standard and whatnot i refer to the integrates and other variations of diamond pythons, but either way thanks for the tips,
thanks, daniel.
