New to all this. Question regarding driftwood for enclosure. Is it ok to use driftwood from a river bank. Suggestions for sterlising it would be appreciated.

soak it in a hot watered down bleech solution for a while, then let it dry in the sun. I also run over the wood with a heatgun and point it in any cracks and crevices. just to kill anything that may have survived, though it is not likely.

cheers

Give it a few days to soak in a swimming pool, the chlorine will kill any nasties then a good hose off and a day or two in the sun and its good to go.

or if its not to big you can bake them in the oven at about 100 (C) for over an hour then any nastys are completly gone as most incects/parasites are done in at about 70(c) hope this helped
