Does anyone have any good ways to do this? & if its using a diamond drill (google) how much do they usually go for?

Help would be greatly appreciated. Its not just into a sheet of glass its into a already made fish tank.

hey i haven't done this my self but i have got my local glass person to drill holes into my tanks but they wanted me to take a part the tank first and give them a sheet of glass to drill.. but i have just found out the my local aquarium drills holes for already made tanks and i think they said they would do it for $20..

Jimmy,

I do this on a regular basis in my job building glass aquariumalthough i have specifically designed machinery here's the way i do it on site , purchase a diamond drill from ebay and with the tecnique put the tank/piece of glass on a table with a piece of foam under it use a second piece of foam and run diamond drill through it giving you a guide.....make sure you tank/glass will not spin on table generally the foam prevents this....now get a coke bottle and put a nail through the lid and pull nail out giving you a squirty bottle lol .....mark hole and place guide in position hold it down with one hand with the other drill slowly and have a 2nd person every few seconds squirt a few mls of water on the diamond drill...once you have drilled a couple millimetres into the glass remove giude and drill slowly always squirting water on it ....be sure not to apply to much pressure.

Feell free to message me if you would like more info......

Thanks everyone!

MatE they are exactly what I'm looking for, not bad price aslong as they don't jump sky high last minute lol.

slitherin_snake thanks for the tips I'll let you know how it goes when I get the gear.

Cheers

this page will give you some ideas. get any old glass and use it to practice on get a glass drill bit it is a spade shaped bit use low speed when you get through the glass start drilling from the opposite side and use less rpm when ever drilling through glass use plenty of water and speed is the key don't push to hard and don't use high speed or you will break the glass
