Hello all,
I have recently picked up a recently hatched Eastern Long Neck turtle and have a couple of questions.
We have set up a basking turtle dock and have a 10% UvB lamp for the tank. If the turtle isn't seen using the basking dock should we be dry docking a couple of times a week?
With regards to diet we initially picked up the same food the store was using to keep some familiarity and have introduced some woodies, crickets and feeder fish (neon tetras and Danios) 3 - 4 have disappeared in the 2 weeks we have had the turtle.
I know that crickets aren't a good food item and we have plans of introducing black soldier fly larvae to its diet. I also know overfeeding is a common thing with turtles. My question regarding diet is what sort of ratio of woodies to larvae should I feed and how much a day? (I have read about a 10 cent piece but is that like 2 larvae 1 woodie)
Thanks for any advice.
