hey all im currently expanding my collection with a pair of jungles and im planing to keep them in seperate enclosures. as im a cabinet maker ill be making them myself. i have a drawing i just did on the computer with the lay out and i was just wondering if i have the dimensions right
it will be 1200hx700wx600d out of black melamine
my only concern is its shape being kinda tall it may be a bit funny on casters

yeah i was trying to get a tall enclosure as they like to climb and i wanna encourage that if i was you i would make that enclosure 900hx45wx45d

also how old should they be before i put them in a full size enclosure the ones im getting are around 10 months old

my two carpets are still in their tubs and are 10 months old but i dont keep jungles yet you should as the Devil he keeps and breeding nice jungle

not sure who he is but i just has a look at some older threads and alot say its alright when they are about 12 months but just give them lots of hides

Your size seems right , I keep and breed alot of jungles , most of my adults are in 120cm X50cm X90cmH enclosures.

90 x45 x45 sounds kinda small for adult jungles ( some locals can get over 8 feet!) ...

All depends on how big the snakes are at 10 months old and what they have been kept in... normally yearling jungles are fine in larger enclosures as long as they are eating .. there is no one set "rule".

cheers thanks mate do you think i should make it wider may 800 may 900 wide but maybe not as tall make it about 1000 tall?

Even tho jungles like to climb.. a longer taller enclosure will give them more room to stretch out...

yeah i kinda like the tall enclosures as i like watching snakes climb and explore so what your saying is its not that important making it that tall (1200)

1200H is fine if you have the space, just maybe make it a bit wider 900 x 600 floor

I prefer black, but its not always easy to get unless you know where to find it.

why does every one have white enclosures is black a bad colour to have the enclosures??

It doesn't matter. Plenty of people have black also - white melamine is just the cheapest and most readily available. Bunnings do stock it where I am from, not sure about interstate though.
