Today i found a whole bunch of eucalyptus branches, that would be great for enclosures. Just wanted to see if anyone knew if they are safe to use there is no leaves just the branches.

i rinsed some, cleaned up with a knife and gave them a light sand, left in boiling water for about an hour and then oven to dry them out.

they will probably be safe enough with just a quick rinse. i just went slightly overboard.

terribly unsafe for snakes, i frequently find convulsing pythons dieing horrible deaths at the base of the dreaded eucalyptus trees...

i use euaclyptus in most my snakes with no problems at all...eaves or no leave.... dont even wash them just make sure i know where they come from....the snakes love sitting in them....

I use them but I do spray them down with mite spray first and then wash them. My bredli loves them

Frequently! LOL:lol: feel sorry for the snakes that live in eucalypt forrests!

The thing is that an enclosure is quite sealed off... I'd be weary of putting something that releases a strong odor or toxin when freshly cut. Dried out wood would be better perhaps... I use branches from non-toxic species of plants personally.. like oilve trees etc....
