Hi,

Im looking for some pictures of your EWD enclosure. I am looking at getting a juvi pair as i have always wanted one as i had one live around my house and swim in our swimming pool when i was younger. I just want an idea on how a EWD setup should look so that i know what i am in for.

Any help would be great.

cheers

hey just while were on the topic can someone please tell me what heat source you need for a ewd
thanks

inside in a small enclosure a heat light would do but outside(where it doesnt get very hot) and in a large enclosure a mercury vapout bulb would be best

for young ones, keep them indoors till they get some size then best kept out doors, morelia matts set up would be nice for a pair, heres some pics of my set ups,for my juvies when they hatch i have a medium urs cage indoors,in the pic u can see the hatched eggs sitting on the lace monitor cage under neath,i have some of last years in a larger cage indoors and a 3 year old with some mertons and the adults r out side in a 6 metre by 4 metre outside cage thats divided down the middle as i have blue fase gippies on one side and easterns on the other

sorry another qustion those are some cool pics just wondering how they go?do they live together?

not totally sure what u mean about them all together mate, lol, but ill try to answer,in the out side cage which has been divided into 2 cages i have a trio of easterns on the left side and on the right side a trio of gippslands, they r totally seperated as i dont want them interbreeding, there r southern blotcheds in with the easterns and the gippys have alpine blotcheds in with them also each side has cunningham skinks and longneck turtles, they all get on fine, but the waterys will nip and eat any newborns so the gravid blueys will be taken out to give birth in the future,in side the juvies r housed with there clutch mates only, hope that answers your questions

oh ok sorry i just ment did they fight and did they live together cos in that pic theres the blueys and waters together sorry
thanks

Just dont keep two males together. They will fight to the death. Also, big ones eat little ones - and fast. Make sure you only keep EWD's of the same size together. And also notice the water bowls in the enclosures that have been shown. thewy are very easily removed and cleaned. EWD's crap in their water bowl almost every day. You WILL need to replace their water as often.

And yes they will live with blueys. Both seem too scared to fight each other. But only if they are the same size or else the littler one will be lunch.

male water dragons will only fight if there is a female involved, moreliamatts are both males

yeah my 2 boys are fine together....
i would like to get some females but dont want the fights so no females for them! :)
