Can people tell me how long after a hatchling first sheds do they start to eat? And when do you start offering food to them? Thanks in advance

They shed two weeks ago and only two have eaten

Well theres no set rule as to when to start feeding hatchies, after they shed some people offer food that day-night,while others may wait a week or two,in some cases even longer.Just remember that hatchies use all the yolk before they leave the egg,so they can go for a few months without a feed, however you dont want to wait that long,Alot of breeders-keepers that i no generally start offering food within the fortnight once they shed, also with a good percentage eating on the first feed....MARK

childreni. They seem ok, not skinny, But i was wondering when they normally start to feed

I like to wait a week or so.
When I start to feed I only defrost or kill enough for about half the clutch.
Because not all will feed and food that has been untouched can be offered to the next container.
Saves wasting a lot of rodents.

Thanks, I guess i will be patient and wait a few days before trying again

my hatchy last year started eating about 6 weeks after hatching but he was stubourn. he would only take his first few feeds at night time with the lights off.

l had one of my hatchies 2 years ago bite me and draw blood 2 hours out of the egg . He ate the next day , we called him killer . l love Darwins .
