Feeding lacies

Hey guys just wondering if there is any thing else i can offer my lacie feed wise. He is about a 18inchs long at the moment he gets gut loaded crickets & woodies and my dog can food.
Also the odd pinkey rat or mouse.

If memory serves I believe one recipe for large monitor food was 2kg of lean turkey mince and a crushed up (into a powder) centrum mixed together. Some one please correct me if I'm wrong!

Young mice (furred, with a fully developed skeleton - chopped if necessary)), kangaroo mince, chopped whitebait fish, chopped day old chicks.

Cheers guys, Slackra the centrum you speak of is that the vitamin tablets?

yeah i have never heard the centrum trick as that vitamin is developed for human vitamin levels not reptiles , you may throw something out of wack and do more damage than good

Nice little Lacie!

I'm with Serp, chopped up adult mice, Quail and insects; try to avoid dog food and, personally, I don't bother with vitamin supplements as I feel overuse may be damaging (how much is too much?) . I've always given mine access to U.V (mega-ray lamps and time outside.

pretty sure thats the recipe. Saw it at a VHS meeting a long while back that was on goannas.

still wouldnt be doing it , the vitamin is formulated for a humans biology not a reptiles ,

The steamed bone meal is easily replaced by one heaping tablespoon of a high quality calcium/vitamin supplement designed specifically for reptile use.
