is it a good idea to feed your mice to roaches then feed the roaches to lizards? Would it make the roaches grow and breed better?

Sounds like a waste of a good mouse.

If the lizard is big enough to eat a mouse that would be better, but I assume that in this case it's not. I remember seeing a mountain of roaches eating bats that had fallen from a cave roof (Life on Earth). They looke like pretty healthy roaches.

what about if you have a mouse and it dies will it still be ok to feed it to em.

i think that it would depend on how the mouse died. If it was sick it may pass the illness onto the roaches and then onto the lizards.

why dont you just feed your roaches carrot and dog biscuits?
also what size mouse would you try to feed them because if you did feed them mice you would wanna make sure they could finish the mouse quickly or you would have a dead half eaten mouse which would stink worse than anything i can think of.

I just came up with the idea cause ppl were talking bout it the other night.

A decent colony of roaches (1000-3000) will eat a full grown mouse in 12hrs. A colony of 500 growers will eat a fuzzie in 12hrs. No smell and they really go mad over it, fighting each other to get at it. No mess, they eat all the bones and most of the hair. I'd say chances of an illness transfering from a mouse to a roach to a lizard would be minimal. There's no particular reason to do it (unless you want to.) If I have a snake refuse a feed, I have nothing else to give the mouse to, so I feed it to the woodies.

wow i didnt think they could eat a mouse that fast.
it sounds like its fun to watch though :D

(walks off saying something about getting some mice )
