Hi all

I have a 13 month old BHP from Dens Pythons, she is approximately 150 cms long and weighs 1.3 kgs. I am currently feeding her once every 7-10 days on 200-220 gram rats - and even then they are gobbled down within 4-8 minutes.

Just wanted to make sure I am not over-feeding her?

Thanks
Morris

That sounds about right. 1/3 to 1/2 the snakes weight. That is if my conversions are right.

Sound about right. Feeds should be 15-20% of their body weight, so you could even think about upping the food amount if she starts getting a bit snappy.

The weight sounds about right for now.
Just remember when it gets bigger not to feed bigger and heavier rats because as you might already know, rats heavier than what you are feeding now will carry more fat% which bhps are rather sensitive to. Best to feed multiple rats no bigger than what you are now to feed the appropriate weight of rat when he grows more.
