how often should i feed my sub-adult long necks?
I was told every 3 days... i have been leaving alot of feeder fish in there all the time and feeding them frozen turtle food and bloodworm.
is this ok?

Yes Every few days is fine. They dont get much in the wild and grow very slowly, Mostly way overfed in captivity.
Just ensure they get variety /calcium. and lots of uva/uvb light (sunlight) Be careful in summer they dont overheat.

When I used to have one it was fed small meals almost daily, it was definitely overfed :p

By the way, I might be looking for some soon so if anyone has any available... :D

Hi Morgangray,

Every 3 days is fine. Feeder fish are fine as well.

My advice would be to stop feeding the frozen turtle foods and bloodworms. They offer little in the way of nutrition.

Switch to a more natural diet and your turtles will be healthier.

Regards,
Michael.
