IF the pythons were killed humanely and IF the meat left over was used also, what makes this any different to wearing a nice pair of leather shoes, belt, jacket, wallet or handbag? How many of you have a leather item in your wardrobe?

Mind you, those are big IF's and I doubt they exist.

If the animal was farmed or substainably harvested no difference IMHO and I have heard that they have python farms in asia but that the money paid is insufficent to cover costs

I've heard about those farms also! I don't think they work too well because the poachers just go out and collect wild ones, which then in turn aids in undermining the market sales price of them, making it unprofitable to harvet them legally and humanely. Always somewhere - it's all for bloody money!

This brings me to another gripe! If you go to Iraq as a subcontractor you go there because of the mighty buck-nothing more!! Soldiers go there because they have to - it's their duty! If profiteers want to throw the dice for the sake of wealth they can expect to reap what they land. If they are lucky someone doing their DUTY may come and save their sorry ass! Money, money filthy money! :evil: A necessary evil!? What a shame! :?

Sorry, I should have made the 'farmed' bit clear. My point is, if raised and humanely destroyed, and utilised fully, like cattle, pork, sheep, etc, then there is no difference to leather or any other meat/animal product.
