so today we had a cockatoo stuck in a solar pool heating mat on our roof right caught from yesterday sometime we obviously don't check it often as not a record number of bird's get caught in it. At the end of the day it took 6 fire brigade trucks full of men to release the bird which they cut a big hole in our net just an ordinary nylon net which we have a makeshift snake hose with a red cable tie at the end of a cylindric tube like as used in liquid nail's to frighten the birds off any way posting this to see if any one has similar problems to this and to see if there are any precautions to use to prevent this sort of mishap I have been contemplating that a better way to go would be to put some sort of metal mesh down where they can not fit there feet into as the next door feed's them. Any way's anyone got suggestions as to find a place where I could get these material's to do this job as it is a two story roof and will be quite difficult im thinking a little more smaller then a school fence if you've ever been to school or something similar not demining the fire brigade or anything but im trying not to feel obligated as of yesterday as in western Sydney it was about 60km per hour winds and if I had bird gloves would have kindly helped the bird off but have to think about my own safety as a selfish human I mean my dad broke his back on a roof years ago and it's a wonder he walk's so I personally love the animal's and classify them as reptile's in my own mind so fire away and give me your opinion's hateful or not Thanx

I'll send you a link for a company that has good products and is where I got my netting and tools for my enclosed back yard. Designed to keep birds out, it works just as effectively at keeping my macaw and amazon in! :)
