So i've decided to give fire spinning a go, and put my name down for lessons.. Does anyone do it, and does anyone have any advice on learning it? :D
Thanks, Rach

you don't need to pay for lessons Rach, my sister did this for years, has a stick and pois? not sure how to spell that. It took her about 5 hours of looking up techniques on the internet and having a go without the fire before she sparked them up and put on a show.

I put in a whole 15 mins and got a few moves down pat (not perfect but had decent technique) lessons are good for social meetings though, if thats what you are after :)

Alot of my friends do fire twirling, its awesome to watch. Go for it looks super fun! I'm not allowed, I got a case of the incoordinations lol
My partner did years and years of marshal arts and then tried fire twirling, this is the result!

Its SO much fun!! i have a staf n poi's but im better at the poi's! As feathergrass said home of poi's is a g8 site with tips etc. just google it and you will find some amazing things! Make sure when you start 2 use fire that you have nothing that can go up in flames on...... my 1st mistake! And have some things close at hand to put out and fire or to treat any burns etc!!! I have not been hurt and iv been doing it for 6yrs on and off (still not very good as i dont do it enough!)

Have fun!!!

Tips and tricks would involve, wear old clothes and cover your hair with something. Don't be scared, it doesn't hurt. If the movement doesn't flow and feel natural, you're probably not doing it right. Things as simple as where your hand is on the staff can make a move easy or near impossible.

What fuel is being used on the staff and poi?
