Which carrier will depend upon from where, and to where you want to send, likewise with packaging. I have never had a problem with a reptile i have sent, however I have had a problem with some received which I put down to packaging!

SO back to the issue, I have received a snake from Air express from Mascot airport and they were professional and fast. I highly recommend them, but you as the sender must ensure the reptile is in a solid box or they can get crushed.

As said, ring AAE & enquire. The cost goes on weight & size. Anything up to 1.4kg within your state is usually around $51, & $70 odd to other states. I've been using the large 'sistema 7litre' plastic food containers from BigW / Woolies - this was recommended by AAE as is light & non-collapsible (gee guys, hope I spelt that right, don' t know how to use spell check!!).
The measurements come in at about 35cmL, 23cmW, 13cm D, & weight all up is about the 1kg mark - which they'll need to know when u enquire. Drill lots of holes in sides & top, place shredded paper on bottom, animals in a calico or cotton bag (ham bag/old pillowcase e.g.) more shredded paper on top, but not squashed in.
AAE also require u to place "Live Animals" & which way up on the container.
The first time I went to AAE, I asked & they copied the requirements for me - really helpful.
Hope that helps

Around $60 for under a kilo and a container that is relatively small in area.Another $20 for your import/export permit on top.
