i pick up my freshy in bout 10 days...
he is going to be housed in a 4ft tank..hes bout 27 cm..
hes currenty housed in a small 2 ft ..
the guy im getting it from is giving me its heater uv and filter, but its filter is small..prob not suitable for a 4ft tank..
soo wat do size / brand filter should i get...and also how much water depth should i give him...any pics or info would be great

have u thought about sump filtering? cause id imagine that a croc would make a mess of the water pretty quickly (craping etc) thats proley your best bet. if not......a large pump filter or even two.

as for water depth not to sure but not too deep (might drown) if it was me probley......20cm deep, dunno

In the nt you can adopt a croc you get it at a small age and hand it back when it gets too a certain size hand it over and start all over again its pretty cool.. Pity ya can't do that here..

i've got freshies and salties, you dont need a huge pump, ive just got an external filter on each tank and it does the whole tank about once every 15 mins. keeps the water crystal clear. the main things are heat and uv, aswell as a varied diet. some people feed just chicken necks etc because its cheaper, ive found them to be alot healthier from a diet containing full animals too, they like yabbies fish, mice, rats, chickens, bits of beef, pork etc. legally the water only has to be deep enough for the croc to fully submerge itself, aswell as needs to have an enclosure twice its length long and once its length wide. it also has to be able to get its entire body out of the water. i found they are alot healthier and more active in a enclosure that is atleast 2 times this. i wouldnt have the water too deep, only deep enough for it to be able to have its back feet on the ground and still beable to raise its eyes and nostrils above the water. just so they dont have to wear themselves out to have a breath of fresh air. hope this helps.
