Ok have been googling reading threads visiting forums and have completely confused myself.:|
I'm looking at getting green tree frogs, now it seems some of you use like a fish tank with a filter and others use pete moss or simular:? - what's the difference do they have a preference to water vs just a moist environment ?
If ne one could point me in the right direction so I can start my set up I would really appreciate it
Cheers :D

It doesn't really matter as long as you can clean it. You will notice in nature tree frogs are often found far from water ;) My substrate is paper towels for now. May look into pete moss etc or maybe a water/waterfall type set up when i set up a display tank

My green tree frogs don't spend a lot of time in water. But when they do decide to go in they like to cover most their body. They like higher humidity so having a heat source and a bit of water helps with this. I have 7 green tree frogs and during the day only 3 of them I actually see with their bodies mostly underwater at some stages. Most of the time during the day they sleep on the glass walls or under or in a plant.

If you don't have a water section it doesn't matter too much, but a large water bowl will do, but will have to be changed more frequently. Also any water area will need branches or rocks so the frogs can get out, and not drown, especially when young. I use fake veins going in and out of the water and river pebbles in a pile at one end of the water section.

Without a large water area they won't breed. If thats what your intending

i have a large water area , and i have vines, a turtle floating dock and another ledge.
the reast is water . i have a water heater , a filter [ with a tubed outlet for water spray] .
i think my frogs were a little too young to breed this season [ not that one of my males thought so]

thanks for some of these reply's - it sounds like it's a preference thing as long as humidity levels are up?...ne chance of some people putting pics up of their set up's to get a visual of what I should be doing?
