My female jungle only wants to eat mice I managed to get her on to rats by senting the rat,
but she didn't have the same feeding response as she did with the mice,
but I stoped feeding her for winter and when I started feeding her again she wouldn't eat the rat,
I tried chain feeding with a mouse and then a scented rat but that didn't work and I then tried her on just a scented rat but that still didn't work (she is used to having one food item at a time)
the temps are 24-25 at night and 30-32 at mid day,
she is 1m long at the moment,
what am I going to do when she is 2-2.5m long and she won't eat rats?

I had the same problem, dipped the nose of the rat in chicken blood, sunddenly my MD loves rats. Worth a shot

My jungle is the same, it sucks cause we breed rats not mice

did you have them feeding on mice before you did that?

i had a problem jungle that wouldnt touch rats, she was in good condition so i only offered rats to her. after about a 2month period she hit the rat with more ferocity than she ever hit a mouse. Now i have the issue of when one of the smaller snakes dont take a mouse, none of my bigger ones will take it.

Yeah she'd been on mice before hand, at first I thought she'd just gone off her food during winter, but she was still hunting of a night and on the hot side alot. I tried braining and that but with out luck. was having chicken one night and though it'd be worth a try as some people do feed their snakes chicken pieces.
