Glass tracks ?

Has anyone in syd had trouble finding tracking? my local bunnings hasnt had any for months apparently, neither has mitre 10. where can i get some in sydney, definately? met another elderly gent today, who was also looking for it, he reckons its a bit like hens teeth round here.
help please?

Maybe a glazier ? They had it at the one i got my glass from up here but i had already got mine from Bunnings

Have you considered using glass hinges?

I'm not a fan of the tracks they fill up with crap and if your enclosure bows a little from stacking or heat or humity the doors are hard to slide. Not to mention that you can only access half your enclosure. Just a thought. :roll:

To overcome the sagging problem i put a headboard at the top and a kickboard at the bottom just gives it a bit more strength .

How much would freight be and will you cut to a specific size ?

I have put in a good "lip" which the tracks will sit on ,so substrate shouldnt be a prob (clogging), looks like tracks will be almost as exxy as the glass. oh well gettin there bit by bit, cant wait to finish it.
About ventilation, are plastic vents better or is simply drilling vents like pegbourd just aswell?
what size vents are reccomended for 3x2x2 enclosures?

Mick, we can cut to any size you woulds like mate.
freight would be quite cheap no weight and easy to pack.

ps this enclosure wont sag, solid as rock, not very asthetic, but bloody solid lol!

4 meters is $28, freight would be about the $10 mark
This tracking is for 6mm glass and is of the highest quality.

Thanks Tim, im just figuring in a trip to the airport for a few plastic strips, may not be justified, im gonna have a look on ur site for cages right now, we'll see, thanks again.

how bout my ventilation question, anyone?
plastic vents or just drilled holes Aka pegboard style? how big/much ventilation for 3x2x2 enclosure housing lizards ?

We freight all products door to door daily, so you would not need to leave your house.

Wow thats a nice bit of service Tim ! Are top n bottom tracks diff? deeper at the top? so I need 4 meters of top 4 meters of bottom? 8m x $7 per mt, plus freight, roughly $70 give or take?
soz the q's, never built before.

Try lincoln Sentry. They apparently sell it really cheap. That is where Matt from Animal Attraction gets his from. He said it is around the $5-$6 dollar mark for 1.8mt lengths. This company is spread out in different parts of Australia. See link to find where your closest one is. Cheers.

yes top and bottom are diffrent depths. When we sell it at $7.00 a meter this is for the set of top and bottom. So it works out still at $28 for your four meters + the freight charge to your door.
Don't forget we do two colour brown and the black that you will not be able to find any were in Australian.
