Hi guys and girls,

im looking to move a yearling bredli from a click clack to an enclosure that is 2 foot wide 2 foot high and 1 1/2 deep. was wondering if i can just use my heat mat to heat or do i need to add a ceramic bulb or globe to provide heat for when she is off the ground.

all heat is appreciated
thanks
Rich

Ideally, provide a basking spot and then for night you dont really need any heat.

The only issue you may have is that with a small enclosure it is more difficult to provide just a basking area, without heating the entire enclosure.

We have some 25w basking lamps which would certainly do the trick, but without seeing the enclosure and how much ventilation etc there is it is hard to know.

Cheers

its an exo terra, so the roof is all mesh with with ventilation below the doors at the front, i was pretty much worried about heating the entire enclosure hence the thread.

heres a pic of the enclosure, i want to make use of it since its been empty for a while

thanks again

yeah a 25-50w basking lamp would work fine, just have to check with regards to the ambient temps in the house as to where the enclosure is kept.
