My female beardie is gravid and you can start to feel her eggs...she is still in with the man...should I separate her now? Or just put her laying box in there? I got 2 kitty litter trays, and put them together with vermiculite....is this suffice for her?

dosent matter if you remove the male or not. he will probably try and mate with her when she lays if you leave him in with her. ive never had a beardie that will lay in vermiculite, ive allways use damp sand in the lay box

Thanks for the info...so do you recommend to separate?....is red desert sand ok...or a special type of sand? I thought that vermiculite was the preferred substrate for egg laying....or is it just for incubating?

i leave my males in unless their 'raping' the females. i use washed play sand that i buy from bunnings. vermiculite is for incubating
