I was thinking of getting some green tree frogs...Anyways, was just wondering what kind of substrate i can/should use and if i could get away with a 60cm x 30cm x 30cm glass cage for 2 of em probably? Also what type of plants are good for them...(i was thnking of just putting some ones in pots in..?)

Anyways help/response would be greatly muchly <--?lol appreciated :)

I just use pebbles. I put in a water dish (as they are really land frogs)and put fresh filtered water in every day.
In winter there is a heat mat under their water bowl.
Keep it simple..we have no plants..just two elbow parts of a pipe and a peice of mango root for them to hide.
We also feed them with tweezers so no food is wasted. We have 6 GTF's and they are adults now.

Yeah those dimensions would be fine for two. I use astroturf as substrate and I've found that the best plants to use are 'indoor' plants - the sort you can keep on a window sill etc. Just make sure they're non toxic.

you can always buy some fake plants. The exo terra ones are good, can be pricey at some places tho.

they're definately non toxic :D

There is a good care sheet here:

Spathophyllum is a great plant that will grow with its roots completely in the water.

If you are using "soil" even in a potted plant you need to make sure it is fertilizer free.
You need to completely remove the soil from the pot and replace with one you know to be safe.

Is one of the lucky ones ......we get gtf's in huge numbers here.......dont have to worry about housing them,,just gotta check doorways, as I have sadly squashed them when shutting the door :( and check the BBQ as they seem to hide under the lid alot......mmmm but froggies in your toilet isnt nice especially at 2am on the loo and it splats on your butt ..first thought was ***? then realise what hit you and its all good ..untill your in the shower washing your hair and frog decides to jump on you .......:) .....little green pranksters......but ever so cute.......

google toxic/non toxic plants..it gives you a list.

I will put some pics up later tonight.
