Green Tree Python LICENCE SA

Hey Ive been looking everywhere for the answer to my question but have had no luck

I have a class 1 basic keep and sell licence for SA

I am wanting to get a Green Tree Python in SA but I dont know what licence I will need...

Ive looked on lists of species and cant find it.

Anyone?

SA GTP Licence

Hi jaclyndaniel

You will need a specialist licence to keep GTP's in SA.

You need to complete an application form from the Department of Environment & Heritage to get endorsed to keep this species.

Yep exactly. DEH don't just hand them out, you need to be recommended, basically speaking earning your stars and stripes.

Which is fair enough. I mean a GTP deserves the best of keepers. It really helps to be a member of reptile societies and other animal organisations.

wow how hard is it to look after a gtp? im a noob and my first is a jungle and was wanting a gtp later on but it sounds like theres a lot of work with gtp's?

With the right knowledge setup and experience I would imagine not very hard. Its getting the knowledge and experience thats the trick. I think Just_Plain_Nuts (Ben) makes enclosures specifically to cater to Morelia Virides.
