Grrr!! Damn Nipple(button) Waterers!!

Just had a huge leak in one of our Weaner growout boxes. Lost about 12 little guys. Got 2 inside in front of the fire in a cage. Hopefully might save the poor little things. Gave em a bit of a dry off with my hair dryer and warmed em up a bit. Poor things!! They were freezing. Grrrrrr!!! Can't wait for our new Italian waterers to come. Costing an arm and a leg, but pretty well guaranteed not to leak. Cheers Cheryl

Still waiting in the Iti nipple waterers. Managed to save one of the nearly drowned ratties. She is sitting on my shoulder right now. Yeah right!! Dave n I are the rodent ranchers right?? This one is a rescued girl. Lives inside in a cage etc etc. Yeah yeah yeah! That's what you guys are gonna say? Dave wanted to gas her 2weeks ago. No way. She is my baby now. And his. He can be a softie now and again. Her name is "TURBO"! She is a flat out little girl. Very cute, hey? I think I might give her a trip when I go over to Vic in 2 weeks time to see my daughter, hubby and grandies hey? Don't trust Dave to look after her. I reckon he'd have her in the gas chamber asap. Nah! No way! She's going on a trip with me in the car hey? Dave can look after the cats while I'm away. Cheers Cheryl. LOL

Thats the trouble with automatic watering systems that they sell in the states. A little saw dust can jam the nipple open causing an unlimited flood in the cages. Unless you have some sort of drain holes in their tubs the rats will drown or freeze to death. :shock:

Afro, I'm going to Benalla to see my daughter and kids. Thanks for the offer to drop in and say g'day, but not gonna make Melbourne this time. I'll be going thru to Wangaratta to drop off Neil Sonnemanns big order, then up to Wodonga to stay the night with my brother(army guy) and down to Benalla the next day.
