I’ve had my yearling stimmie for a few months now, she eats and sheds perfectly, she poops well, she comes out at night to explore - all round she’s great.
I’ve not handled her more than to change out the enclosure because she always bites me, I’ve tried using a hook to get her out but she sprints to the back of her hide immediately. Whenever I have my hands in the tank to freshen the water or clean up, she comes out of her hide and tracks my hand. She doesn’t curl up to strike, she just sticks straight out like a pencil and then bites me. Is this normal behaviour? Should I be trying to handle her more often? Her bites don’t hurt but they do draw blood, is it bad if she’s constantly tasting my blood?
I flinch when she bites me becayse she’s so quick, I’m also worried I might be hurting her teeth if I’m tearing away from her?
