So the mansion is just about done....

Dodges enclosure measures 1.7m x 80cm x 50cm.

Hatchie/Juvi Bank measures 1.7m x 40cm x 50cm.

Enclosures are made from pine and painted with non toxic paint on the inside and semi gloss on the outside.

Tiles for substrate.

In Hatchie/Juvi Bank there is a heat cord underneath the tiles in a recess into the wood so the tiles are even.

The Hatchie/Juvi bank is very versitile with the dividers of the 4 being removable for growing babies and will eventually be good for an adult woma IMO.

The doors of the bank are made from perspex and swing upwards.

These arent totally finished yet as i still have some decorating and adding of water bowls, hides etc.... and also adding of the babies.... Mr Jiggy (coastal), Kalea (intergrade), Isis (jungle) and Zali (bredli, who i will be picking up this week) will be in this bank.

Dodges mansion has his normal basking globe plus a heat cord underneath at very low wattage to help with the over all air temps.

These doors are 5mm sliding glass.

All up including heating, timers, substrate, UV, glass, perspex etc came to around $700 which is awesome considering what I wouldve paid for something this size store bought.

Only thing is..... does anyone know where i can buy desert style fake plants like mondo grass, spinfex etc type??? cant seem to find em anyway :(

So overall this came out a whole heap better than i expected and only the second time my darling other half Andy has built an enclosure (never to this scale before)....

So i will be loaning him out to herp husbands/boyfriends everywhere cos he did such a fantastic job..... couldnt ask for any better..... im pretty damn spoilt huh??? LOL

Theres a few pics to come :D

Comments appreciated :D

they are fantastic enclosures!!! nice work
how do u find the tiles compared to everyones favourite newspaper?

LOVE LOVE LOVE TILES..... LOL

IThey are really easy to clean, quick spray of repticlean on paper towel for on the spot poop wipe ups and then I take em all out and soak em every fortnight...

They are very hygenic....

Hold the warmth in the winter.... cool in the summer...

ALL my enclosures have tiles now except the click clacks of course...

I find em ten times easier and cleaner than when i was using newspaper, breeders choice, astro turf, sand.... hmm i think thats all i had tried LOL

Cheap too...... you get 8 in a box of those for around 30bucks in bunnings...

I should sell tiles for a living LMAO

looks good :).

those bottom ones on the mansion look pretty small, are they for hatchies?

Thanks Natrix its something I had been thinkin about for a while. I like versitility.

We'll probably do something that size and turn it into a 12 bank with options....

LOL maybe i should speak to andy before i pimp out his handy work...

You have to come for a holiday..... you don't really have a choice!!

Can't wait to get all the babies into the bottom bank on the weekend :D

the enclosure u posted first looks good with the hatchies down the bottom my mate did the same but the enc had a pair of ridgetailed monitors and the hatchie rack thing he had deathadders

The doors of the bank are made from perspex and swing upwards.

Great looking enclosures, just a couple of Q's:
-Where abouts did the perspex come from? Is it easy enough to work with?
I know it scratches up pretty easy and can melt when your cutting it at high speed.......I may have to pay your bloke to cut me a few pieces if thats possible? (if he has the right tools and stuff).:?

And If you're lookin for desert plants, why not some of those 'Air Plants' for the back wall? always see them for sale in grocery stores.....just have to mist em occasionally:D

we get the perspex from bunnings... actually found it cheaper than the glass suppliers etc

you can get it in thin kinda rolls which are really easy to work with and by the metre is about 27 bucks...

there is also thicker stuff that comes in 1.2 or 1.3m (i think) lots that we used for the 3 bank which is about 60-80 bucks...

As for working with it we found it very easy (i say we, i was supervising lol) to work with and you can buy a chemical that takes the scratches out but it is suprisingly hardy, we havent scratched any yet (apart from the crack in the 3 bay after i had a mental bout sliding doors lol)..

And yep hes got the tools for it :D

and thanks da_griz.....

Ask him if he's up for a quick bit of work (2 doors, about 50cm by 100cm, swing down, hinges on bottom edge, latches on top edge) for the price of materials and whatever labout he wants to charge :) ........less then $500, lol.
If not, no worries at all, I'll con my boss into letting me use the tools at work.....:p
