Yesterday my frogs arrived from Lynfrog.I was so excited to get my 5 new GTF's.1 of them was sick so mum took him to the vet today and they just rang her to say they couldn't save him.:cry:I am upset and my mum is cranky because they are charging her $68.They seem 2 think he either had a bacterial infection or was treated rough when freighted.Mum says she will never get freighted frogs again. She feels sad that the trip cost him his life. Now my new tank is even further away because mum just had 2 pay the vet.The vet has asked us 2 quarantine the frogs in case they have a disease.
RIP little Simba:cry::cry::cry:

sorry to hear that RedEyeGal, i'm sure the rest of the froggies will be happy to live with u,..you sound like a caring person. :)

aww sorry to hear darl.. froggys are very fragile and can stress easy. i got charged $280 for taking my beardy to the vet when we thought it had MBD was there for two nights and got a phone call she passed away. i only just bought her too! worse thing is the vet wanted to do a biopsy thing on there behalf(i didnt get charged for it) and found its liver was "abnormal" and had a congenital problem i rang the breeder and luckily he replaced it not being my fault but i still had to pay the vet the $280. beardys dont even cost that alone. so i know exactly where your coming from. keep ya head up. things will pick up

i paid about $350 for xrays to find out my beardie had an upset tummy,..well worth it tho, i'd die if i lost my chicken. (thats chubbas nickname)

Hey there. Sorry to hear your sad news. I also had some green tree frogs freighted to us a few months ago, and two died very soon after! I was sooo upset!! I since learnt its not a good idea to get frogs that arent from your local area, so we wont get any sent to us again either! Hope the rest are ok! They're such beautiful little creatures-I can watch mine for hours!! Enjoy! :D

i got gecko's freighted from lyn. they were perfectly fine.. the over night service is quite good actually.

the frogs may have got cold. but being very small.. well.. young? (im assuming) it makes them extra suseptible..

dont let it rile you too much, the others will be happy as a frog in no time..

chris1 that sucks ay. i actually just checked and it was $310!. i mean we cant expect not to pay the vets. while there in their care they will charge us. which is fair. i was just angry coz it was my first beardie, it was a new clutch of different coloured pygmys too it had such character i cried (probably went over the top too lol)but im a girl.At least the breeder replaced it but when you look at paying $300 at a vet and not getting your first baby back it hurts.the new one i was given also has half a tail which the other didnt have but its part of the game there all the same at the end of the day

RedEye Girl, it is sad that you lost one of your new frogs- they are pretty special.

When we lived up in Tully, (often claimed to be the wettest place in Australia)in north Queensland, we had some amazing really BIG green tree frogs living in our house. We build it up on high stumps and planted rain forest trees around the house. We had an old dog whose water bowl was on our varandah and each night we would get a couple of those frogs come and swim in his water bowl. I didn't mind that so much, but then they decided to come inside and somehow got up onto the kitchen bench and into my sink. I knew they were there cos they would leave a calling card in my sink! We could also hear they hopping or should I say plopping across our wooden floor. Cheeky things! Mind you they did eat lots of bugs for us.

Sad to hear about your frog. I know where your coming from. My snake seems to be going to the vet every 2nd week at the moment still with her respiratory infection. The vet is getting cheaper by the visit which is good. But when we buy pets I guess we got to expect the vet bills. I think shes going to become the million dollar snake very soon!!
Hope the other frogs go OK for you:)

PS....... Of course they never cost us a cent to buy, as they just moved in and made themselves at home!

anyway the rest of the little guys just shoved a few crix in their gobs!!! Here are there names:
Kiandra
Holly
Rajah
Chinno

Good to hear they're eating-always a good sign! Cute names you've chosen! Bet they're gorgeous li'l froggies!

thank you guys i aam very upset but i guess something went terribly wrong with freighting.
