G'Day to all,
Has anyone seen or used a harness on monitors before, I've seen pics and it looks pretty cool and the lacy didn't really mind by the looks of it , he was just enjoying his walk outdoors. If anyone knows of these could you please give some info, cheers

ive seen harnesses for bluetongues:) seemed a bit pointless coz a bluey cant exactly run away.......

supposedly a certain reptile warehouse in melbourne puts their lacey on a harness....that said, not sure if they are just saying that to try and excuse having an adult lacey in the enclosure that the do

I'd like to see pics of you taking a monitor for a walk if you get hold of one :) I can just imagine someone walking up to you and asking "what sort of dog is that?"

The people that I got my olive hatchie off had a very very tame lacie & they had a harness/leash for it to take it for walks, otherwise it strolls around the house. :)

i'd love to take my beardies walkies were can i get one ? harness that is

This is one of the pics i was describing before, pretty cool (i think). Do you know what the reptile warehouse was called? Really want the harness...:D :D :D

From that pic how can you tell if he likes it or not, looks like he's struggling.

Plus you cant' take reptiles off your property excetp for vets, so it would be pretty pointless.

OH MY GOD! Are you serious? Trust the americans to come up with that idea :p

Sorry i was picking on your lovemypiggy, my interpretation of that photo is he is struggling.

Interpretations are different :D that's what makes the world fun.

As Ash said some may feel comfortable or at least bearable to a leash. But you can't take them for a walk like a dog, reptile aren't allowed off your property so I don't see the point.

But you can take them outside for some natural uv with out them escaping

We sell some.( Adandiluvsmyreptiles) That harness on the lacey looks like the ones I used to use on my large parrots.

they are just a ferret leash or rabbit leasg you can get them from basic petshops.

We have ones made specifically for large monitors...will post pics later tonight.

It would depond alot on the monitor and how you use it, if you have a very 'tame' lizard and you just use it as a thing to ensure they dont escape incase they bolt, it would be OK and it would allow them to forage over a larger area such as your backyard, you could even place food around so they could search for it.

If you want to use it to restrain or drag a monitor around the streets on a foot path or anywhere in public you should give up keeping reptiles IMO.

For any other lizards like dragons or blueys they are no good and would just stress them out.
