My boss was getting concerned that I was spending so much time downstairs in the clinic rather than upstairs in the lunch room. He had braced himself for some bad news or something and it never happened. Now I can go back to being antisocial

Well there's coffee breaks, lunch breaks, brunch, morning tea, afternoon tea, in between consults, after consults, while you are waiting for your surgery to go to sleep, while your waiting for your surgery to wake up, post surgery coffee, pre consult coffee and then just times when nothing much is happening.
