Hi guys at home today from work cause i have a bad cold been sleeping all weekend and taking panadol and cold and flu tabs .
I am going to the docs today get some antibiotics hope theywill kill the virus!

Symtoms :
headaches bodyaches tired very sore throat runny and blocked nose
feel like dying and i havent felt like handling my snakes at all :(

Has anyone else had this cold/virus yet?

I wouldnt bother the doctor, just take plenty of fluids, (One half a lemon, squeezed, 2 teaspoons sugar, 1 tablespoon honey, boiling water, keep the half lemon in the mug, stir, and drink away, this will help greatly) bed rest and heaps of posts, and you should be fine.

Get well soon!!

Antibiotics dont kill the virus they help with the secondary infection ( virus waste ) i believe.

Good idea i just got a laptop and set it to a wireless hub so i can be on the net all day in my bed on the toilet wherever i want to go around the house

So you guys really think i am wasting my money going to a doctor ?

Thanks I have lots of waste to get rid of too .

I have been sick since thursday last week but it didnt really hit me till sat
when i woke up with a really bad headache and sore throat.

If you are lucky enough to have bulk billing. It is just a pipe dream here. We have to have $50 up front each visit then claim $24 back through medicare. Bulk billing is dead here.

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky

Yup womas, the rolling eyes were meant to indicate sarcasm lol. Luckily for me I get free visits to the uni dr. (If i can wait a week for an appointment...)

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky

Yeah medicare  yesterday $60 was the cheapest.

Today its gonna cost 45 and i rang about 10 places and they all were that price bulkbilling is almost dead in this country !
on average it must cost 80-100 hundred dollars everytime i get sick

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky

Put yourself in quarantine and never see a doc again. Are you sure it didnt start to come on sat afternoon, about 4th quarterish

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky

medical centre's don't charge.............. its all direct to medicare and you pay nothing, unless you need something from the pharmacy

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky

lol womas i turned it off before then just a quick look later for the devastation !

I just went to the 7 day family medical centre up here bry it charged me as well

The only difference is how much they charge i only know of 2 surgerys up here that bulkbill

Shermy was right take some panadol and have lots of rest ! :)

But i did need the certificate for work

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky

Yeah, only if you need a certificate would i recommend you bother going to the doc, cause if you take too many anti-biotics the germs just stay hidden and are harder to kill next time.

Plenty of the lemon drinks i recommended, and rest, and you will be as right as rain very soon.

One of the perks of my job, is free medical, from sore throats to heart surgery, i dont pay a cent, and i dont have to wait weeks to months for surgery ect.

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky

Do they just use trainee meds on you guys ? :)

Sounds like a good deal i had an appointment at 11.30 got in just before 1.00

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky

I think it may have been a trainee that did my lobotomy, i cant seem to say the number inbetween 5 and 7 for some reason!!!

RE: Re: RE: Having a sicky
