Hi guys and girls:) I am aware of the neurological issues that affect some Jag morphs but I was wondering if there are any issues with the other types of morphs eg A tiger striped jungle? And what are the differences between the morphs? Is the tiger jungle just selective breeding between certain patterned jungles or has another type of snake been added to the mix? Sorry it's just all the information I have found has been conflicting, I must admit I don't like the idea of breeding 2 different species of snake to get a certain pattern or color, if this is how it's done?

Tiger Jungles etc are simply similar jungles bred together to enhance the stripes with no other species or sub species involved Same goes for high yellow or black whitediamonds etc etc All morelia eg all carpets are of the same species but have been split into sub species such as jungle diamond darwin etc so they would be considered a hybrid rather than a crossing of species Most of the colour morphs within a species or sub species such as stripes etc etc are naturally occurring variations on the basic colours These appear to have zero impact on the health of the animals concerned Natural defective morphs such as albinos have been shown to often not be as strong as normally coloured specimens quite often they are poorer feeders as hatchies But this appears to lessen a lot after several generations ie albino burmese feed exactly the same as normal burmese but they have been around for a fair while now Overseas it is virtually impossible to know if a snake is a pure example of one locality or another In Aus it is still fairly clear in the majority of cases Where the water will get a bit muddied is when normally coloured siblings ie hatchies from the same parents, get sold as pure when in fact they are not This will happen because with some morphs such as jags there are nearly always fewer jags than ones that dont appear to have jag genes Hopefully at some time in the future there will be a name for these that everyone must use when selling or breeding them

There already is, Jag siblings. That is the name that should be used, it's accurate, straight to the point of what they actually are and not misleading. Any other fancy name would just be confusing it.

I'm MA15+'s missus and he says thanks heaps, very helpful! He now doesn't feel bad for wanting one! It's so hard to get easy to understand information! Thanks again!

Khagan Sorry I should have made the MUST in that sentence into big bad bold capitals We all know they 'should' be sold as jag siblings But its quite evident from a few recent threads that this isnt being done all the time
