Hi all, looking for some advice. I will be keeping a childrens in a click clack for a few months. I have checked out the guidelines for setting up a click clack and just have a couple of questions. In a 7L cc what wattage of heat mat would i need, is 5W enough? Does the mat go straight onto a surface or does it need something under it eg glass? Is it ok to put the plastic tub straight onto the mat without it melting? Or should i put tiles on top of the mat and sit the tub on them? I can get a 5W mat (could also get 7W or 14W) and thermostat for about $45 and this seemed ok. Any thoughts? Thanks.

5 watts should be adequate you can use a tile to distribute heat evenly, and you should use a thermostat with the heatmat so you can control temps set to about 32c, and make sure it has a cool end hope this helps any more q's ask awaaay lol also if you use the search bar in the top right corner you should be able to find threads

I would go a heat cord. I would make a point of not letting either the heatmat or heatcord come in contact with the click clack.

Thanks. I have checked out the threads and there has been a lot of discussion about this. I get the feeling a heat cord may be best, maybe sandwiched between a couple of tiles and put one end of the click clack on top. I can put more of the cord under it in colder weather. I think i will go a probe thermostat just for peace of mind.
