Ok, so i built my melamine enclosure (6'x2'x2') and was thinking of an 80w heat panel or 2 x 100w ceramics. BUT could i use a heat cord between tiles instead as a sole heat source?
It is for an adult BHP. Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ive heard very good things about using a heat cord under a tile, In fact im looking for the thread on how to make it right now haha, im getting new enclosures for my Black head, Bredli and Womas and im considering the heat cord and tile option

Being a terrestrial snake, go with the heat cord under the tile option. Low maintainance and cheaper on electricity then ceramics or globes. Use an on/off thermo, then install some LED lighting for viewing. There are plenty of good threads of how to do it on here. Good luck.

+1 - Got to it before I did lol.

Well all my older enclosures have ceramic globes, so I may put a smaller wattage ceramic in and add a heat cord between tiles under it. Reduce the power consumption a bit.

How would LED lighting work? is it battery operated? I have 5w energy saver globes in mine, but want something for my new enclosure.

LED strip lighting off eBay, search aquarium led lighting, most come with power packs. Or local Swedish flat pack store. The aquarium ones come in blue and orange/red good for night viewing.
