Hi all,

I have a hatchling Children's python happily settled in a click clack and I'm starting to research options for down the track (a while off yet but I like to be prepared).

I have read so much on heating and lighting options that I'm now more confused than I was in the first place. Red/blue/Uv/Fluoro etc etc.
What would you recommend for my situation?

The enclosure will be melamine (I like the extreme pets enclosures so think I'll go with one of them) 900L x 600W x 500H

I live in western NSW where the nights get pretty cold in winter so I would need more than the 14W heat mat I"m using now (and would like to continue to use) especially at night. I work from home so the heater will be on during the day most days if it's cold and the enclosure will be in that area. The enclosure gets a bit of natural light but it's not overly bright so I'm considering whether I need a a bit of extra day time light. I would like to be able to see him when he's most active after dusk so maybe a blue?? light? I currently have a thermostat connected to the heat mat I'm using but would happily buy a second one if needed.

So what would you recommend? I'm happy to do whatever is best for my little friend but the simpler the better.

Ta, Glenyse
