Hi every one I have a basic question about heating. I want to get away from using expensive and hard to use timers /thermostats for heating . I’m sure not every one out there uses them , instead using standard timers ( with the15minute increments ) ...
Just wasn’t sure how others go about using timers for heating .
It’ll be for over head heat using just spot lights or ceramic bulbs . Do you have them come on at say 7 am and have it on for x amount of time of for x amount of time or just on from 7 am till of at 7pm ( times are just examples )...
I hope I don’t confuse you .
I know I tend to not explain things that great .
Thanks

Depends on so many different things. Some of the most important are the species you're working with (you haven't even said lizard, snake or other) and the temperature of the room you're using it in.

In most cases, for newbies, thermostats are more or less a must. There are some species in some circumstances which do well without thermostats but they're the exception rather than the rule.
