Hello everyone I currently have a 5 mth old bredli and quite a large enclosure im wondering if there is any possibility of putting another snake such as a coastal.
Or some other form of carpet snake in the same enclosure i can't see this being a problem any advice would be greatly appreciated....

If you are not an experienced keeper I would advise against mixing species together
Although it is not a common occurrence snakes even of the same species have been known to eat each other

After you know and understand all the risks and feel comfortable that you can read the signals of various snakes, then is the time you should consider this as an option

Experienced keepers would probably not ask this question in the first place...;)
But I would have to agree, this is something not to be done lightly.

Peter..
Mate, I say let the bredli enjoy the large enclosure, it don't really need a room mate.

Another same size, opposite sex, centralian......then you have a pair;)

Yeah, My diamond has a really large enclosure too...and she loves it!!!
She was with a male when I got them and I kept them together for a while, and they were really aggressive. I sold him and now shes beautiful (except when I try to get her out of the enclosure, and when I do she tries to go straight back, until I get out of reach.)

ohhh k thanks everyone no im not an experienced keeper but surely people that came to this conclusion of putting different breeds together didn't just know without trial and error that it should not be done or can not?

yea might just go another bredli then but im tempted to get a coastal or albino darwin lols?

Im not working currently so i will have plenty of time to observe the snakes and make sure all is going well....

worst case scenario seperate tank?

Yeah mate... If your going to try it make sure you observe them well and have a seperate tank ready to go should you need to seperate them (even if they are a pair of the same species).

there is a good article on keeping snakes together on the SXR website
Reptile Husbandry Articles by Southern Cross Reptiles

I advise you to read it before housing any snakes together.....I let my two jungles have time together when I let them out when they are supervised....however each one of my snakes has their own enclosre.....primarily because I read this article

Would the two you are considering putting together be opposite genders? Even in this circumstance it is risky but putting two males together is always a worse idea than two females or pair.

He is not considering separate species, just separate subspecies. Regardless it is dangerous and risky to mix even the same species together.
