Hi guys and girls,

I'm in Dubbo for the weekend:D Zoo was cool. Gota question....

I've asked a couple of members this already, but figured I'd just do a thread to get some more ideas...

If you house two hatchling bearded dragons together, from different clutches, one being male the other female, would there be any complications? I know size would be a factor, but can I leave them together and not have to worry about coming home one day and find one of them dead?
Any sort of advice on this would be great.

Thanks

There's always a risk when housing more than one animal together. It's not only size and gender, but enclosure size, preferred heat spots and hides, and general personality.

It's certainly possible to put more than one bearded together. However, just make sure you have a large enclosure, more than one basking area (or a large basking area), plenty of hides, and make sure the dragons get along. Look for signs that one isn't dominating the other (and taking all the food, for example), and be prepared to move one out if there's ever a problem.

There are many, many people that house more than one dragon together. If you want to do it, then go ahead.
