A friend found this in her front yard and was not sure it is was a giant worm or a baby snake. Clearly smart enough not to get too close to find out just in case

Looks like a worm but there could also be a possibility that your neighbour tossed a peice of overcooked spaghetti into your yard
 
Peter has it in one.

They are a terrestrial fee-living (= non parasitic) member of the phylum Platyhelminthes (‘Flat Worms’). They are found in cool moist places, like under rocks with water retentive soil or amongst leaf mould, and emerge at night to prey on small invertebrates. It looks like it is giving birth. they must have a mouth part way along their body or a really long nose.
 
Thanks everyone for the replies, I love the knowledge you guys have on here. Someone had told her it was a blind snake, so it got me curious as to your thoughts :)
 
I'll put up a half decent pic I managed to get of a New guinea flatworm, shows off the little eye well if you zoom in.
