hi i am very concerned about my little female diamond python. first she has not eaten in 3 and a half months. second i have offered here a number of rats mice brained not brained. now she does move around the enclosure but loves her water. i think she mite have mites. she sits in there for awhile i am very worried get back to me asap please thanks

Check her water bowl for any black floating bits, if she has mites they would have drowned in the water

Yes she may have mites. But it is not uncommon for diamond pythons to be found curled up in there water bowls ;).

check her temps as diamonds dont like it to hot thats maybe why she is in her water.my female stops feeding in may and stars back around november

help

so is the feeding an issue also if she has mites can they kill her and how do i get rid of them. yes i have seen 2 black bits in the water bowl thanks really aprreciate the amout of help that saves reptiles lives

Yes mites will eventually kill her, but 2 black bits in the water bowl doesn't necessarily mean mites. Usually when a young python spends a lot of time in the water it is a sign that it feels insecure.

I wouldn't be too concerned about her not feeding.

Wouldn't jump the gun and say mites, but a fairly good way of telling is if you put her on black cardboard, does she leave white flecks. These are mite feces.

Otherwise, wouldn't worry too much about not eating, it is winter after all. Wait til spring, if she won't eat when it's warming up a bit, maybe be a little more worried and consider a vet visit.

(though just to re-iterate: if seriously worried, all the web-posts in the world probably won't help; go see a vet)
