I have a 7 year old Proserpine Coastal Carpet Python, and i just fed him a large rat, hes about 6foot long and healthy, and while i was feeding him he accidently bit himself and started bleeding, its stopped now but what should i do and is this of concern?

nothing should happen
but if it gets infected see a reptile vet and he will give you anti biotics

as long as the bleeding has stopped and there is no serious slice that would require a stitch or two- just keep an eye on him, and try to wash the wound regularly for a few days until it heals itself to avoid infection- a little F10 in a really diluted mix will work well, as will disinfectant- but make sure whatever you do mate WATER it DOWN !!!!

and keep the enclosure extra extra clean for a while.

And if my advice sounds rubbish- just post some pics of the cut and we can have a squiz

fully sick bro subwoofer.

He will be fine mine have done that before nothing to worry about they are tougher than you think.

I wouldn't be too worried mate unless its a big laceration theres not much you can do

As long as your snake didn’t end up like this it should be okay-

In all serious though, how bad was the injury? If it’s just some teeth marks and it’s not bleeding anymore then as long as you keep an eye on it, there shouldn’t be too many dramas. Just watch it over the next few days to make sure it starts to heal properly.
