Yeah just my luck, My snake has escaped out of its enclosure and it's no where to be found. im pretty sure i last checked on him about a day ago so he could of been out 30 hours+ . its a 8 month old Jungle carpet python. with a empty belly. how long do i have? where could he be? his cage was placed in my study first floor.

Any help would be awsome

Look in draws, behind cabinets, around power boards etc where its warm. Under or in a lounge.

It's a jungle...look high. Curtain rods in the sun seem to be the favourite go to.

basically look every where high and low. and look in places you wouldn't even think of.

friend had a yearling jungle get out last year, we found it after a few hours inside his computer speaker sub, so weird places. ive heard that putting out a few hides with heat mats under them randomly around the house overnight can work but thats just hear say and ive never tried it.

Try under the lounge and between the cushions, between desks or under shelves, in the curtains, and don't just think that hes going to be in the study if the door was open or if it was closed and had a small enough gap for him to fit under he could be anywhere but the best place you will find him is probably in an inclosed area or a place where it can warm itself in the sun hope this helped and hope you find him and if you do make sure he doesn't do it again!

He obviously ment curtians.

Indeed he did... that's what he said :) I thought he might have meant cushions... or would you spell it cushoins?

Oh, you edited your post... but what are curtians?

if i had a dollar for every time my snake found its way between the cousins.....

Hope they were second cousins ;)

Look under fridge, washing machine, dish washer, if it's warm dark and safe it should still be there

At this time of year, especially if the house is cool. a small 8 month old snake won't go too far. It will rapidly lose body heat and hole-up somehwere to await more warmth. But look around the darkened rooms with a torch in all possible places (much easier to see by torchlight with the lights out), just after dark - it's when they're most likely to be active, and before the house cools down for the night.

You could try leaving out a frozen/thawed mouse somewhere in the room he escaped. Might draw him out of hiding if he's got an empty stomach. Also leave a hide on heatmat near the mouse. Hopefully he'll be drawn to go there if he's going to digest and let it settle. But you'll have to be watchful otherwise he'll gobble it up and go again.

Must be stressful. I just got an 8 month jungle as well last Sunday! What a coincidence! I'd hate to lose her :( Hope you find your little mate :D

Thanks for your Suggestions guys, I'm herp hunting in my house tonight with about 5 flash lights. il keep you posted

If your have tiles put a mouse in an ice cream container with a 3-4 inch hole for it to get into it on a heat matt or something like that put flour on the tiles so you can see he its been across the floor and which way it went ? Just a few ideas

Sprinkle flour across your doorways and when you wake tomorrow, you'll be able to see where he's been. If he hasn't slithered thru a particular line of flour, then hes not in that room. Good luck - hope you find him.

View attachment 263326 Look EVERYWHERE. I've even found Montaloons in the bath vents. A lot of the time they don't go far, they may crawl into a hiding place close to the tank. Another thing you can do is close each room off so it can't travel further. Though you don't know where it is, the longer it's out the further it will possibly end up. So limit how far it can go.
