hey guys,

quick question about my jungle python.
i've had her for about a 14 months now, i've never had any problem getting her out of her enclosure, she's never struck at me or done more than a gentle hiss.

last week i moved her up a size for her food items, it left a pretty massive lump but she got it down no problems (she's 20 months old i fed her on a small rat - which i'm told is pretty standard), but then she curled up on a small rock crevice on her rock wall and has only moved once since then (i fed her 9 days ago), she went milky and has just cleared up ready for a shed, so between the feed and getting ready for the shed i can understand her lack of movement. but adding to my concern is the fact that i wanted to just check that she was okay, so tried to get her moving again, and she got very agitated as soon as i tried to move her (she hissed really loud and struck for the first time ever). i can understand her being defensive because she's coming up 2 a feed and still feeling full, but i just wanted to check that there isn't something else i need to be concerned about. (once she was moving i looked for anything i could see that might suggest other problems and she seemed fine physically).

thanks for your advice :)

Nah thats just some Jungles for you...

They ofter get agitated when in sloath (shedding) mode..
And you might find she is now actually more content and lazy with the bigger feed keeping her happy

i would suggest you just wait until she has shed and see if her mood improves, You haven't changed anything else have you? moved the enclosure, has it got suddenly warmer, all sorts of little things can upset them, combined with pre shed it might explain the mood swing,

yeah haven't changed anything except the food... thanks for the advice, i'll see if she's less pissy after a shed.
