hey all... one of my thicky girls has died and im in need of advice. i am not to sure but think maybe the cause was impaction :? coz she has the bark like substrate coming out her backside . i have been using reptile one repta bark. just wondering what other people use for a substrate? i am going to put them on newspaper until i get sum feedback :(

very said. she was my gravid thicky that had laid only one egg on the 8th of this month and i was sure that i could see more eggs developing :( (please note that i am most upset coz of the loss of her and not the eggs inside)

We run all our geckoe,s on a sand base and have never had a problem plus its easier to spot where they have layed

Im so sorry for your loss.... I used Repta Bark also & would love to know what other think

ok. thanks heaps. mite give sand a go then. i have a trio left but i still sad :(

possibly a retained egg? was the substrate coming from the cloaca or stuck to it due to discharge?

she only laid one egg and i did think i could see two eggs. the bark was cuming from the cloaca not just stuck :(

I use sand, if you are up to it cut out the egg and incubate it, you never know.

there is no way i could do that! im not worried bout the egg. i want the girl :(

i use washed play sand from bunnings (for my amyae)

sorry to hear you lost your girl,..that really sucks. :(
