Help with choosing a Wheatbelt Stimmie

Hi All,

I am in a very lucky position that my brothers close friend works within the pet industry and I have asked him to organise a wheatbelt stimmie for me as I am beginner! He has organised for me to go with him to choose my snake out of a new clutch of hatch lings, and i was wondering if i could get some advice on what i should look for when choosing my snake? Also in terms of gender i was wondering if there was any major differences between male and female?

Lucky you!!!!! Just pick the one that most appeals to you.
But if it is your first snake i would be making sure to get one that is already feeding. If none are yet feeding see if you can have the first one to start feeding.
After all, I have never seen a wheatbelt that wasnt stunning!!!

True wheatbelts aren't usually associated with the pet industry. Simply because most people cant tell the difference and they are double the price since they are less common. I've got a pair of wild caught wheaties form west aussie reptiles (so I'm not too dubious on whether they are real wheatbelts)... I'm just saying do some homework in regards to who breed them. to ensure they are true wheaties...
Plus I've seen equally stunning stimis from other parts of WA.
There is no difference in temprement between my male and female. Neither has ever struck me or even looked like it was about too.

Just be carefull and make sure they are "wheatbelt" animals.
Ask for proof of locality and who the parent stock came from!

Thanks so much guys! I think the snake is from the breeders who manage the reptile park in gosford in sydney so i think that it will be "genuine". My brothers friend is also an avid collector of snakes so i think he would be able to spot a "fake". All the advice is much appreciated, and i am really excited about getting it!!!

i have brought a wheatbelt and a bredli from gosford reptile park and both r top quality bred snakes.tho my stimi has not eaten for months now due to the cold and moving home but lively now and hopefully back to eating soon...good luck with your new addition

I just bought a childreni from the reptile park, and she is by far my favourite snake yet.
